The 2008 AWS Returner Course will be held from 19-26 September at Lucy Cavendish College in Cambridge.
The AWS Returner Course is aimed at solicitors who have typically been out of practice for five to ten years. It is not a refresher course for practising solicitors. Those who have been out of the law for a longer period are also welcome. The course is open to both men and women, and is suited to most solicitors whether they have previously worked in private practice, commerce or the public sector.
The course is an intensive week-long residential programme, run at Lucy Cavendish College, a college of Cambridge University for mature students. Comfortable college accommodation is provided for seven nights, and all meals, coffee, tea and documentation are included.

The lecturers, who come from a wide range of backgrounds, are all experts in their fields, and along with the course organisers and other guest speakers (some of whom are previous returners), provide valuable insights into the current legal scene. The structure and ethos of the course offer extensive opportunities for networking and interaction in a supportive and informal environment.
The course is run by the Association of Women Solicitors with financial support from the Law Society.
